Review procedure

The review procedure for the scientific journal HERBALISM is in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education described in the brochure “Good practices in reviewing procedures in science.”


  1. The journal’s editors require that each article be submitted electronically.
  2. By submitting an article, the author(s) declare(s) that they have written the article themselves and that it has not been submitted to another editorial board or otherwise published.
  3. All submitted texts are pre-qualified in terms of compatibility with the journal’s profile, editorial evaluation is carried out (preliminary evaluation of the content and proofreading of the text – if changes need to be made, the editors ask the author of the article to make the corrections),
  4. Each article is reviewed by persons outside the scientific unit in which the author(s) is (are) affiliated and outside the members of the Scientific Council. The reviewers are selected by the publishing house from among persons with recognised scientific achievements in the subject of the article guaranteeing a reliable review.
  5. The author(s) of the article receive(s) both reviews and is (are) obliged to respond to them. If the reviewer’s comments are accepted, the author(s) make(s) the necessary corrections and additions to the article.
  6. The author(s) or affiliation of the reviewed publication are not disclosed to the reviewer (double-blind review process), or the reviewer is required to declare that there is no conflict of interest, which is considered to be the following between the reviewer and the author: direct personal relationships (kinship, legal ties, conflict), relationships of professional subordination, direct scientific cooperation in the last two years preceding the preparation of the review.
  7. Reviews are prepared on a form provided by the publishing house.
  8. In case the reviews of an article are not unanimous, the text is forwarded to a third reviewer, whose vote is decisive.
  9. The journal’s editors reserve the right to either accept or not accept the article for publication.
  10. The list of reviewers cooperating with the publishing house is available on the website.
  11. The editors declare that the paper version of the journal HERBALISM is the original version.
